Lisang Nyathi is currently pursuing an LLM in International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights at the Geneva Academy. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Comparative, European, and International Legal Studies from the University of Trento, Italy, where he completed his thesis on the Best Interests of the Child and Cross-Border Gestational Surrogacy.

Passionate about human rights, Lisang’s research interests encompass the application of human rights obligations in armed conflicts, with a particular focus on education and children's rights. He is also deeply interested in the role of artificial intelligence in human rights, examining both its challenges and its potential to drive positive change.
