Dr Nataliia Hendel is a Professor of international law at the International Humanitarian University in Odesa, Ukraine and a member of the Ukrainian Association of International Law.

Since 2011, she teaches public international law at various Ukrainian universities, specialising in international humanitarian law, international human rights law, and international health law. She is also a co-lecturer in the online course Studying International Humanitarian Law.

Dr Hendel is a trainer on international humanitarian law of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society and a trainer of the programme ‘Human Rights’ at the Ukrainian School of Government. She is an expert and trainer on international humanitarian law for teachers conducted by the Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Union together with the Ukrainian Red Cross Society (2021–2022).

She was a member of Ukraine’s Interdepartmental Commission for the Implementation of International Humanitarian Law (2015–2017). She also participated as a judge in the Telders International Law Moot Court Competition national round (2016, 2018), the Stetson International Environmental Moot Court Competition (2015), the International Children's Rights Moot Court Competition (2021), II National ELSA Moot Court Competition on International Humanitarian Law (2021), and others.

Nataliia Hendel has authored more than 70 publications, including collective monographs, training manuals, methodological guidelines, and scientific articles in professional peer-reviewed journals.

Dr Hendel holds an LLM and a PhD in international law.
