International Law
Kiana Daryabeigi is a Teaching Assistant and PhD candidate at the University of Geneva, Faculty of Law, where she conducts research under the supervision of Professor Thomas Schultz on the role of aesthetics in constructing people’s identity through the prosecution of international crimes. Her research interest focuses on the aesthetics of international law and the role of cognitive sensibility in shaping legal thought and practice.
She holds a Master’s degree in International Law from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (IHEID), where her thesis examined the dialectical relationship between emotions and the prosecution of international crimes under the principle of universal jurisdiction in the Swiss legal system. She also holds a Master’s degree in International Law from the National University of Iran.
She has gained professional experience with the UNESCO Chair for Peace, Human Rights and Democracy, as well as in legal practice focusing on private international law cases, and through various research initiatives.
