Vincent Chetail is Professor of International Law at the Graduate Institute and Director of the Global Migration Centre. He is President of the board of the Geneva Academy and, from 2004 to 2012, was the Geneva Academy’s Research Director.
Professor Chetail regularly serves as a consultant to governments, NGOs and international organizations. He has been a visiting scholar at Harvard Law School and King's College London as well as a visiting professor at several universities, including the Pantheon University Paris II, Queen Mary University, London, the European University Institute, Florence, and Université libre de Bruxelles.
He is General Editor of the book series Theory and Practice of Public International Law (Martinus Nijhoff, Leiden/Boston) and Organisation internationale et relations internationales (Bruylant, Brussels). He is also, among other positions, Senior Research Associate at the Refugee Law Initiative (University of London) and a member of the Academic Network for Legal Studies on Immigration and Asylum in Europe.
His areas of research relate to refugee and migrant law, humanitarian law and human rights, international criminal law, collective security and peacekeeping.
