Nataliya Nikiforova has been working for the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) since 2010, supporting the work of the UNECE-WHO/Europe Protocol on Water and Health and, prior to that, of the UNECE Water Convention. Nataliya’s current responsibilities include servicing the Meeting of the Parties, the Compliance Committee and other intergovernmental bodies of the Protocol on Water and Health as well as supporting capacity building on water, sanitation and health issues and providing policy and legal advice to Parties to the Protocol and other States.
Nataliya is a lawyer by training, with experience in international environment and water law and the human rights law, in particular with regard to water and sanitation. Originally from Russia and Spain, Nataliya is fluent in English, Russian, French and Spanish and has an intermediate knowledge of Arabic.
