This informal meeting of the Treaty Body Members Platform, co-organized with the Paris Human Rights Center (CRDH) and open to all members of United Nations Human Rights Treaty Bodies (TBs), will discuss issues specific to the current COVID-19 situation.
In particular, this meeting will address the elaboration of Methods of Work across all TBs regarding dialogues with and issuance of recommendations to states, as well as measures to balance the impossibility to carry out country missions or inquiries, as well as follow-up procedures and implementation at the domestic level.
The first two segments are open to the participation of NGOs, allowing for an exchange on the common concern on a widening protection gap due to the limitations for TBs to carry out their mandates.
