Global conferences allow for exchange among the members of the academic platform members from different regions, as well as to further discuss and deepen ideas and proposals developed during regional consultations or via the call for papers. Additionally, smaller specific thematic and legal meetings try to address particular areas of concern, concrete initial steps of harmonization undertaken by treaty bodies themselves, as well as the political context of the 2020 Review of the treaty body system.
