The Geneva Platform on International Crimes and Justice is the Geneva Academy’s integrated hub for research, expertise, policy engagement and training relating to atrocity crimes, accountability mechanisms, prevention, protection and non-recurrence.
Building on the Geneva Academy’s long-standing engagement in international criminal law, international humanitarian law and human rights, the Platform brings together research initiatives, expert dialogue, conferences, policy discussions, and training activities aimed at fostering informed engagement between academia, policymakers, practitioners, international organisations, civil society actors and affected communities.
As part of the Geneva Academy’s broader research and policy engagement activities, the Platform contributes to the promotion and effective implementation of international law applicable to atrocity crimes, accountability processes and transitional situations.
The Platform combines academic excellence with practical relevance and serves as a space for thematic and cross-cutting engagement between academics, diplomats, practitioners, judges, prosecutors, international organisations, civil society actors, and affected communities.
