Frédéric Bernard is a Full Professor of Public Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Geneva.
Frédéric Bernard obtained a Law degree from the University of Geneva in 2002, a Diploma of advanced studies in Torts Law in 2005 and a PhD in Public Law 2009. His thesis examined the relationship between the rule of law and the fight against terrorism. In 2010, he was a visiting scholar at the University of California UC Berkeley. He was admitted to the Geneva Bar in 2013 and practiced law at a Geneva law firm where he is still working as Of Counsel. Before becoming Professor of Public Law at the University of Geneva in 2019, Frédéric Bernard was a senior lecturer at the Global Studies Institute of the University of Geneva (2011-2019).
Frédéric Bernard specializes in administrative law, constitutional law, human rights, climate change, environmental law and the fight against terrorism. He is the author of various publications in French and English in these fields.
