Human Rights Uncovered: Episode 3 – Ukrainian children: forced transfer and the war on identity

In this episode of Human Rights Uncovered, experts Kateryna Rashevska and Maria Fico explore the deportation and forcible transfer of Ukrainian children and the implications for their rights and identity.

Host Clémence Enjelvin is joined by Kateryna Rashevska, a human rights lawyer at the Regional Center for Human Rights in Ukraine, and Maria Fico, a research collaborator at the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights, to examine how family separation, indoctrination and militarized education affect Ukrainian children in the context of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Together, they discuss the challenges of securing their return, the role of international law and accountability, and the support needed to help children rebuild their lives.
