Manon Beury is a PhD candidate at the Geneva Graduate Institute. Her research applies feminist and queer approaches to international law, focusing on women’s rights and the rights of trans and gender-diverse persons from an intersectional perspective.
She previously worked as a Human Rights Officer at the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), where she supported the Independent Expert on sexual orientation and gender identity, the Independent Expert on the rights of older persons, and the Special Rapporteur on minority issues. She has also held research roles with NGOs, completed traineeships at the ICTY and the European External Action Service, and worked as a Teaching Assistant in public international law at the University of Geneva and Leiden University.
Manon holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Bordeaux, an MA in International Relations and an MA in European Studies from the Université Catholique de Louvain, as well as an LL.M. in Public International Law from Leiden University. In 2024, she was a Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne with a Doc.Mobility scholarship.
