Liyu Wu

Liyu Wu is a teaching assistant at the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights. She is currently a PhD candidate at the International Law Department of the Geneva Graduate Institute (IHEID). Her PhD is in the field of international criminal law, focusing on the concept of the jus puniendi of the international community in the ICC context.

She holds an Advanced LLM in Public International Law (specialization: International Criminal Law) cum laude from Leiden University. Prior to joining the Academy, she worked as a research assistant to the International Law Commission, a teaching assistant at the IHEID, and an assistant editor at Leiden Journal of International Law. She also served as a legal intern at the United Nations Office of Legal Affairs (Codification Division), the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, and the International Committee of the Red Cross.
