Eugénie Duss
Research Fellow
Eugénie Duss is a Research Fellow at the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights, where she currently works on IHL in Focus, RULAC and War WATCH projects. She also serves as a legal expert and research consultant.
Recently, Eugénie was engaged with the research project ‘Preventing and Combating Terrorism and Violent Extremism: Towards a Legal-Empirical Approach’ as a Postdoctoral Researcher. Prior to this, she was a Visiting Researcher at the University of La Sabana, served as a Researcher for the Mechanism of Moscow’s first Experts Mission for Ukraine, and taught international humanitarian law (IHL) at the University of Lausanne. Her PhD thesis (summa cum laude) on IHL applicable to international armed conflicts by proxy, supervised by Prof. Marco Sassòli, received the 2024 Prize of the Swiss Society of International Law (SSDI).
