Martina Caslini

Martina Caslini is enrolled in the Master of Advanced Studies in Transitional Justice, Human Rights and the Rule of Law at the Geneva Academy, where she specialises in the legal and policy frameworks for addressing gross human rights violations and grave breaches of IHL in post-conflict and post-authoritarian contexts.

She interned at the International Center for Transitional Justice (ICTJ), collaborating in the programs of Tunisia and the Central African Republic. Previously, she worked as a researcher on different projects, such as the International Legal Research Group on Human Rights and Internet Censorship and the one on Human Rights and Digital Technologies, organised in collaboration with the Council of Europe. She also represented an NGO during the meetings of the 42nd Session of the UN Human Rights Council.

Martina holds a Joint Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Law (summa cum laude) from the University of Milano-Bicocca, where she graduated with a thesis on the Right to Truth, doing a research period at Oxford University. She was the recipient of the National Peace Prize,  the Federico Baffi Prize, the Angiolino and Giovanni Acquisti Scholarship, as well as the Young America Prize for University Talent. Prior to that, Martina did short-term study periods at the Catholic University of Louvain, the Hague Academy of International Law, and Oxford University. She also worked in a law firm in Italy and has been a member of the European Law Students' Association since 2018, being appointed as a delegate representing the organization before the UN Committee on Enforced Disappearances (20th Session) and the UN Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (21st Session).
